Tiffany Daniels-Alcide came from a family of educators. Early on, she latched onto the values they instilled in her, which groomed her into a family-oriented, people-driven woman who excels in Information Technology and engineering.

Tiffany was born in Brooklyn, NY but was raised in St. Lucia, where her foundational beliefs and long-lasting friendships were formed. She attributes her success to her parents for teaching her to value family, have discipline, love, and respect for people.

In 1998, she moved back to the United States. As a young girl, seeing how hard her parents worked set the bar high for her, and reminded her that she could not dare be anything less than great. “We came from struggle, but that doesn’t mean we don’t come from greatness,” said the mother of two.

Tiffany recalls always being fond of computers. After graduating high school, she studied computer engineering at NYU (New York University).  Tandon School of Engineering formerly known as Polytechnic University Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she became a consultant at Accenture, where she did computer programming.

“IT work has been primarily a man’s world for a long time,” she explained. Even while working in a male-dominated field, Tiffany shares that she learned to speak up and appreciate her voice.

Though working with computers was fun, she yearned interacting more with people. Hence, she went back to graduate school, earned a Master of Science in medical informatics, which positioned her to be associate director of both invasive and non-invasive Cardiology systems Being able to co-join engineering and healthcare is rewarding. It is career path that allows her to directly impact patients patients having cardiac procedure and working directly with doctors, nurses and house staff to ensure all the documentation and cardiac imaging tools are up to par. From many meetings, solving data and server issues, to utilizing documentation tools, no 2 days are the same for her. Learning systems and ethics has challenged positively and makes her feel like she is fulfilling her purpose.

Any goal Tiffany sets her mind on, she goes above and beyond to reach it. She aimed to start a family, become a homeowner, and be financially stable by the age of 30 and achieved that.  Now in her early 40s, her focus is less on figures and more on empowerment. “I know when I want something, and I won’t stop until I get it!” Tiffany said.

Apart from loving tech, Tiffany always loved art but growing up she had to put it to the side and focus more on school. As an adult, she revisited her artistic side, and found a way to juggle her 9-to-5 and art businesses. Despite facing challenges running a business and at some point, going into depression mode, she continued to paint because it stretches her imagination, allows her to empower others, and helps her see her emotions on canvas.

Tiffany’s sister Dr. Yasmine Daniels expressed: “Tiffany has qualities that you would spend a lifetime trying to find in all of your friends combined. It’s hard to put into words what an amazing and genuine person she is — all while being selfless and nurturing. Even as adults, she continues to nurture us like we are her very own children.”

Tiffany’s dream has always been to follow a career path that enriches others’ lives and motivates them to follow their purpose. Instead of focusing on the setbacks she always focused on the reward as motivation to keep moving forward. Her success story teaches that we don’t have to come from wealth to create impact. If we maximize on the opportunities that are available, everlasting change is foreseeable.

A strong woman creates internal balance and does not try to please everyone. She is okay with being herself, and does not feel that she need to transform herself to be who people want her to be.
